An open message to ALL desperate single people (mostly targeting marginal gals, gays and some straight men who shouldn't be single if they think this way) biting their nails at the dreaded thought of the upcoming Valentine day/night dinner with your equally single neurotic and half cynical/ half hopeful or just plain desperate friends (played by Katherine Heigl or some other non threatening former TV actress, which in this case is Jessica Biel)...

You are single and fully allowed to do anything a season one Carrie Bradshaw would, Meaning drink up pretty fruity drinks in cocktail glasses chain smoke your Marlboro lights, fuck who ever you want, buy crazy half designer half vintage outfits and hang out with your friends...

Now do all this with an honest smile with the thoughts of acceptance, and the acceptance of your fabulous solitude. BUT don't get angry or sad, fully embrace the fact that you are in the presence of friends and rejoice over the fact that you too may be too highly evolved that you are past that point of dependency. You can be your personal Yin and Yang.

In honor of Valentines day I think it's time to delete my dating profile and face life by diving into the sick sad reality that hey I'm single and in less than a weeks good luck finding some kind of intellectual artistic opponent to match up against me and pin me against the wall in some metaphoric depiction Topanga and Corey...

I leave my army of singles to a little mental masturbatory material this is how I used to picture my V day...

I would start off by hopping into the shower and give myself a hard scrub of the body using a loofa and Dr Bronner's mint liquid soap contrasting that minty fresh feeling with the rush of blood that is much needed to the surface of the skin. My skin is glowing as you arrive I let you in and ask you to be seated to a nice glass of almond milk ice cold.. I wander around partially naked no big deal finishing up my statement seeking outfit. Then its off the vintage white convertible on the way to an art opening in some deconstructed re-appropriated industrial space for the most prolific artist of the moment then off we go concert of some buzzband that I can't get out of my head because the constant mind raping from the Pitchforks of the world. Afterwards a long dinner with vodka or whiskey or bourbon or wine (you choose- actually let me choose) its complementing a grand meal of a light tuna steak and beautiful greens. The conversation is lulling yet enticing in this good flattering lighting, is that a little Dusty flowing through the air causing a scene and setting the vibe for the beautiful dessert that has come our way. It's a delicate St. Honore Cake, creamy, crisp, buttery and flaky... We then run off to go dancing in a relatively small lounge (S&M if you are lucky for a quickie in the bathroom), just you, me and the DJ. Fuck all the other people, this is followed by more and more talking. The night ends with a mutually timed coming into kiss at the top of the hill while listening to Timmy Thomas "Why Can't We Live Together".

So much of life is just killing me. From work to work to trying to maintain some social presence and keeping up with the void, my life as of late has fortunately had a few hiccups which I so enjoy. I used to be so enthralled in the preferential treatment that usually just flies by. I think life right now life need to be that special again, I;m ready to take the offerings in a different way of a more appreciative gesture… and as I keep hopeful things are getting better and better the adventures in darkness is fully back.

My week started off at Space 15twenty where Thvm had an opening party for their new artist series in denim. The jeans were touring around the world and the current stop was in Hollywood. The washes had such convictions of emotions and great meaning. AJ djed through the night until War Paint played for an hour It was such a treat.

In preparation for my trip to NY I started off by finding the perfect hat, in this case it was Jessica Willis' amazing leather hat that was sculpted in the same manor as the way they did in Roman times. Later on in the week I went with Juju and Niko to a local westside Karaoke Bar for Amelian's birthday where we ate greasiest mac and cheese bites and saw the amazing performances from each other. I performed Bjork It's Oh So Quiet and we all had a laugh at Niko's balladry.

I was soon rushed off to Ian's in NY. After an uncomfortable but doable flight, I hopped a cab over to Greta's where I dropped my stuff off, did a quick change and ran over to the art space where I had my first drink of the year. I was flown in for my soundtrack I did for Ian Markell's solo show Plastic Plaza. Within a few hours the space crowded in all too well. It was a success with the cool kids and art crowd fawning over the new art star. It was a long time coming to have us all in the same space. I bumped into friends I hadn't seen in nearly 3 years. All garnering their own personal success I felt the sense of unity I had so long desired.

Later on that night we all hopped a train and after a walk that felt like forever we ended up in what I'd like to call rural Brooklyn. The party made me feel at home in that downtown loft vibe, the urban bohemianism. The music was great, it felt like a minirave. We soon left around 3 I was so exhausted.

The next day I woke up to snow covered streets, I was so overjoyed I felt like I made it snow. Ian and I stopped by Baohaus where I was dying to try it in the same vibe of an Anthony Bourdain fan boy, it was OK kitschy and fun but not really something I drooled over.

Later that day for dinner I slaved over the oven and created a spicy curry shepherds pie from scratch. It was a long running tradition that my visits to Ian would also include a home cooked meal since I always liked bringing out the alcoholic 50's house wife in me.

and then we were off to a random bar called Tropical for our friend John Mercer's girlfriend's birthday. The party was moved over to the Tribeca Grand Hotel which was rather grim since it reminded me of the last days of Teddy's. Thankfully we found a party across the street and raged on hard. It was a beautiful space that was filled with the typical crowd of artsy gays, it girls of the moment and the few stray straight men who knew how to dress.

On the final morning I was woken up abruptly and made to go to an early brunch I couldn't deal. Hung over we went to Pastis and then to a private showing of Ians show to press.

Yes so lately I have been on my relaxed detoxed purge of sorts. I've been eating horribly and trying hard to understand my new clarity. At one point I found that amazing point of enlightenment It was a glowing moment. Then I went over to Smoke and Mirrors and it was kind of hard for me not because of the boozing and such but where everyone was on the same point mentally I lagged behind and struggled with my caffeinated twitches to conform... here's a bunch of pictures of me eating my sobriety away.

My big night out this week was for a few art shows in downtown in particular an opening curated by Grace Denis that showed a great sampling of Ian Markell's work... The art was cool, the kids were cooler. The space was well coordinated and showed a majestic crew of photos.

2012 and the world is starting to end again or perhaps really start again. They say that the end of the world is really suppose to be the opening of the worlds mind, the change in the way people think, maybe its really our time now.

My week has been really chilled out and not really thinking, it all culminated in a little gathering at Sasha and Rick's for the end of the world… I came in early and began tossing back cocktails around 8PM and we sat and chain smoked to a soundtrack of Donna Summers and disco era divas, as people began to arrive we sat and socialized until midnight came in to Madonna's deeper and deeper

Shortly after the new year flew in we all gathered up and then a run over to Kesh's house where I found my personal demise by 2AM

After a run around the flea market the next painful morning, I soon met up with and ran around with Carolina and Christian in our yearly post NYE meeting.

My days and nights have lately not been that crazy as I feel that most people share the same feeling of that post New Year's schlump, daily bites here and there

led me to a great dinner when Kyoko came back to visit. It was a divine excess of memories of a platinum era of going out and being at the forefront of nightlife in the 2000's

BTW you really got to excuse my rather chill out time I decided that for the month of January I was to stay sober. I have just recently learned yo go out with red bull, see you cray next time...

Last week I'm not sure in what particular order or date lets just say at the start of December has been brutal. Brutal in the way of hyper manly shocks to myself, the fluidity and overall flow has been a bit painful. I felt a bit frost bitten, but ready to heat up... Having absolutely no agenda to really go by has drove me a bit nuts, though I really cherish my freedoms of being able to sleep in and stay up all night, the in between of lonesome meals and time wasted on driving nowhere and hours blown on angry birds do make me kind of pissed off.

Actually right after the meeting up with Papa Simon and wandering around little Tokyo the previous time HERE, we ran over to see him DJ at R Bar later that night. It was that uber butch vibe I imagined the sight of an army of biker vegans prepped to fight dive bar ready. It was so romanticized of spilled beer on the aged hardwood floors, the point of view as the school of combat boot fishies swam by each other in the sardining plant the venue had become and worn in corduroy jackets that were literally falling apart and ever so cool... I'm kind of mildly disgusted by that... maybe not disgusted so much as fearful of that rustic appeal that has been so well pushed in recent years and so well perpetuated but the likes of me and everyone I know. I left cold but laughing. At the end of the night when I shed my insecurities I gave into just laughing and having fun.

That night Jen came over and got ready before we left to go to the Rick Owens Furniture opening at the Maxfield Gallery. Initially we planned on coordinating out outfits to look like some devil/ angel thing but we alter adapted it to little red riding hood and the big bad wolf... The furniture wasn't furniture but rather art pieces from some rick owens alter. I felt I had died and been sent to hell disguised as heaven. The 250 million year old petrified wooden seats were surprisingly comfy. All the tons of alabaster were aw-inspiring... After tons of red wine and goat cheese ice cream we all ran over to the after party at Nik and Stella's new photo space and ate drank and talked... after there was nothing more to talk of we played with the Ouija board and danced.

I remember and craved the days of the amazing nights of the so called it kids in LA with their jolie laide style. There once was a time where every bitch didn't use some meta form of self expressions that ended in an army of the yuppie semi in the loop look of the day... everyone truly had an obscure reference they plucked into reality. I hate the army.

Thursday night I went to Shelby's birthday where they threw a crazy cockettes themed gathering... things got strange.

The next night I went to dinner and caught up with a childhood friend who I was so fortunate to have grown in the similar vein as me, after the barely there bite that accompanied the pitchers of beer we ran over to S&M and danced for a while before going to my house for tea and talks

MY HATE OF TURKEY
I have always hated turkey. I never liked the taste, texture, or smell. When I was young I thought that the turkey my mother made during thanksgiving was possibly different than that of a conventional gentile family in America. Perhaps the white people's turkey was a flavor mountain of charm and melted in your mouth with all its flavorful juices and fragrance. Then one year I went to a friend's thanksgiving lunch, I had her family's thanksgiving offerings and realized no, nope, not at all I just hated turkey It was all the same, My mother was brought up by her family friends who were ever so the white American dream of a WASPy church goers in northern California town, so really there was no fucking up a thanksgiving turkey. I hate turkey… If you really have to smother a meat in so many damn flavors and sauces, than the problem is with the god damn turkey…. I live for ham

In front of me there was the damn turkey, but there was also ham stuffing mash potatoes and a sweet potato concoction with the marshmallows on top. I ate with family and ran back to my room for vodka sodas. I was about to go out that night either to stand in line with the masses as the midnight sales brought in an expected amount of people hoarding for the best deal, or join another mass of Thanksgiving event for orphans in search for the spirited release. Instead I stayed in and nursed my thanksgiving child as it rolled around in my stomach as a womb of comfort.

The wine was fun and so was the lamb and goat cheese poutine… that leased to more wine at Smoke and Mirrors and a sloppy drunken night that was so typical. It was fun and nice not to be a complete wreck and instead just take in the crowd and conversations

I recently went to lunch on a crazy rainy day with a close friend of mine. I almost always have lunch with him at least once a week. I've known him for ages and went on many adventures together. Anyways at lunch I was hungover, semi wet and cold, we waited for our food for a bit before noticing the table next to us. It was our friend we hadn't seen in a while. How nice what an unexpected surprise. He looked thin and cool as ever and had a cute, albeit quiet new girlfriend to his side. We all shot the shit and then got back to our own business sitting right next to each other in the cramped cute cafe. After he and his girl left, both dressed like they were hiking, we whispered amongst each other and were trying to figure out this odd situation. We had all had such a deep friendship together at one point nearly inseparable in the nightlife but where were we now. I thought to myself had my friend and I not adapted to adulthood and were stuck in some type of childlike stage of overbearing nightlife binge, I think not. Perhaps our other friend matured and grew up and became the adult. Either ways I felt semi off having sat next to someone who we used to get pissed drunk and pass out on each other. I felt more like an acquaintance then an old chum. I then thought of the many friends whom I hadn't seen in ages and when we had our re-acquaintance, it was a party as if we just saw each other last week... how odd, did my friend grow up and become the adult I so despise, or were we never that close of a friend? I'm trying something different... this week I decided to fully focused on how camera photos will look as a blogging tool.

I was so happy to have Ana pull me in to help gather the grand deviant night life kids into the UNIS store... I told all the ladies, "start you engines for finding a good old boy to hang out tonight". It was a good representation of all the late 20- mid 30 something crowd of former street kid skateboarders who grew up and now were art directing something seminal to that whole street art high brow low brow thing going on... It was a great looking crowd that were steadily getting drunk from the delicious drinks served up by the mixologists at Hemingway's. I then ran over to el cayote with Papa Simon and his friend Jamal where we loaded up on food before another crazy and crowded night at S&M.

I woke up to Dani calling me early in the morning as she had woken up and was now steadily in line at H&M awaiting the shopping battle of Versace. She came over and showed me the goods before we ran off to help my friend Tali on a video shoot. Hung over we didn't have the energy or the style sensibility to come in my neon nourishment, instead Dani an I looked like bastard teenagers readying to kidnap Santa. Later on that night we went to the Soho House for a screening party for the two new videos from Floria Sigmundi, one of them featuring my friend Nikhil Ra in all his naked glory fucking a vintage mustang.

Yeah so there hasn't really been much explosive  organic movements. Systematic suspense-less synthesized. I feel like a depressed Zombie... It really is technically all fun filled with smiles and laughter but what is the turning point going to be where I can really spring forward. I finally got out to help in the Shadow Pool performance for Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe's collaboration with the MOCA. It was such an emotionally draining time prepping in the event that had me at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary for 6 hours before the performance, which displayed a lecture for and alternate universe of Warriors-eque society. It was followed by a drunken run over to the Mandrake

After getting a taste of socializing I was back to needing the night life fix I went with Isabelle to S&M for a quick drink on a rather quiet night.

After running to the MOCA at the PDC for the Hedi Slimane photo Exhibit, which I found rather depressingly hip, I went for a bite with Niko and the old crew before running home to prep for the night. I went back to S&M at 1:20 AM and found myself in a whirlwind of spins on the dance floor and copious vodka flow.  I didn't know what beast was released that night but I was slightly unamused yet having quite a blast. Perhaps it was such an expected night, way too presumptuous and scheduled. As the tick tocks continued I craved the diversity and eclectic possibilities that didn’t come so easily.

FIRST OFF LET ME SAY YOU CANT STOP ME FROM BLOGGING

It's the 7th of November I'm eagerly waiting to call up my insurance after I lost my phone or rather had it swiped off of me while DJing. The scene was the Dimepiece party for their new The Drug and The Dream collection. It was so nice to finally see an LA based label do it right. Drunken in a whiskey and beer haze my phone was swiped I never felt so naked, even at my nudest, so violated… I didn't let it get to me. Afterwards I hoped into a cab with Emily and headed to the new Paul Sevigny spot called Smoke and Mirrors at the Standard hotel. Though I had thought it would be like the old Purple lounge I was wowed by the intricate details that have become such a hallmark of his aesthetic when it came to the hallway leading to the club being through the kitchen. I was so gone and then I started cartwheeling across the way until I finally left.

I'm still recooping but here is a grand round of partying for the scary holiday that is Hallowe'en. On Friday I went to the Guest of a Guest party thrown with Minx Society it was so fun... but I left early do to being simply to well vodka'd. That night I dressed in a simply devil or rather Satanic outfit, its funny I was probably the most outrageously dressed...

I didn't go out again til Sunday where I DJ'd Bonnie Mckees amazingly decadent house party. It was fun and wild as any of her legendary parties. For the night Bonnie came out as a pink flamingo fully lit up in a Vegas show stopping number.

The following night I was ready for a rager. Emily and I went back to Jane's House where I dj'ed the early set. That night I dressed as my hero Paz de la Huerta as a Zombie. Getting there so early in addition to the shots we took before the party, we were toasted by 11. My fringe covered leotard was fringeless as I started to rip them off one by one in an erratic display of Halloween possession. After the wig went off, I went out to the courtyard over looking all those around me. Fuck, I thought to myself I look sluttier than any of these girls here. Back to the DJ booth where I shed off the rest of the leotard and started mooning the courtyard crowd... they went wild. By 1 AM I was suffocated and nervous the party went to House Party status, I step to the door trying to sober up and help do the door... I can't ever do it I'm too nice...I left by 2 something it was a good night.

I often say refer to Ana Calderon as one of my night time mamas, she is a sweetheart. Accommodating and feeding LA's cool kid youth, including me, with grand events and a nurturing baby bottles of booze. Just the perfect person to hug... last week she pulled me in for 3 great parties that had me glowing in a mystic spiral to grandness.

First off was the great All Saints party party at the MusicBox. the night was to help Not For Sale that was a non profit that helped put an end to human trafficking, I was so glad to be involved...

My mom and I went to the Ellen Von Unwerth Book signing where i was so honestly bashful being around my mother as a flock of erotic dancers danced on the tables. Ture to form my mother was the first in line. After getting the book signed I instantly kicked my mom out before going upstairs and hanging with my friends as the vodka pour stiffly to the splash of soda. I was so happy to see Valida DJing as she so well depicted the Fräulein that were in Ellen's book. After the gathering coven of Aphrodisiac crowd we dispersed to Il Pastio.

Recently I ran to the Echoplex for Check Yo Ponytail's show featuring 2 of my absolute fav's NAR and IO Echo. I hadn't been to the Echoplex let alone Check yo in ages, it was so exhilarating. NAR went on first and I was easily wowed. I had performed with Natasha Roozrokh before and it was always an emotional experience seeing her neo biker gang swagger, holding her stature strong as a front woman indie cool kid. This time performing as a trio rather than quartet or solo she found the perfect medium between minimal unplugged session as well as overly heavy sound as a foursome. Following NAR was the ever so divine IO Echo who set off this amazing experience of this new darkwaved pop music that offered a sense of such deep relevance in shoegazed goth... simply dainty and dark, soon into their set they played their past works of danceable Siouxsie worth songs. It was a fun night

It wasn't the end of an era it was more of finding some type of an emotional closure with what I considered a really abusive relationship in the practice of vacancy. Sure things could have flourished in the post moments of checking your mind out. Teddy's was over and for some reason it felt a bit more peaceful rather than depressing.

The night started with my running over to Acme gallery to see Mai and Erica whom I hadn't seen in a while.

Afterwards my mom and I went to loteria for an Horchata before briefly running over to the newly reopened Writers Room to check out the vibe. It reminded me of good old pure times spent at the 86 lounge before it was converted to HUSH.

I then ran to a late night showing of Rocky Horror entertaining Martin and Sasha who were all eager virgins.

Some people don't like being touched. I thrive off the touch and warmth and overall feeling of flesh. It's hard when my whole being is not a costume I think people understand that by now. I literally live the theatrics of face paint and oddly fit clothing. I was recently attempting to date. The first one I'll call The Prod. In this encounter I was Immediately asked why I was so bitter about love and who was it that ruined me. I responded by saying that it wasn’t being bitter just the simple fact that everyone around me was so free in sexuality what was the point of trying too hard in finding something more.

My ups and downs as of late seemed to cycle around three things:

1) solitude and the depression of self

2) partying and gaining a sense of ego and confidence

3) upsetting shitty attempts

that lead back to step one...

this week brought me floating back and forth between the partying and the solitude

It started on a wednesday night with robzy xtian sasha and I running over to a stoli sponsored party for the new issue of black book magazine, though the mag was a rare practice of good taste in america I was rather discouraged by the audience a trail of big hair and sequin dresses scattered and tight. After a ton of coco based vodka cocktails, 9 in total, and a dj that would have been relevant in 2005, we then walked the trail of instability to the roosevelt where Casey Winchells' Minx Society multimedia PR company threw a divine gold party.

The most amazing show of synchronized swimmers came out in an underwater swirl. I was quickly in a great mood with the light highly shining flare on all of our skins as we all sat so happy together at the edge of the lounge chairs.

We soon left as the others ran off to retire, Sasha and I went to Paul & Andre's where it got so wildly and loud. I was quickly on the way to seeing only a blur as the crowd kept on gathering as the hurricane of people moved in free flow. We found our seating nestled between a set of pseudo hipsters who had better pay speaking their French in conversation. Sitting there listening the eerie curses that had the wrath of former lovers all the came to mind was salt purity and how desperately I needed it. Clutching on to the champagne glass hard I held myself desperately together as the dots of light blurred in and out as I kept hold of my composure. Tossing back the last sip, I asked sasha to leave. Another 15 more minutes I knew I would have blacked out and fallen over.

I didn't get back out until Saturday night for the opening of the Royal T's East village west. It was a crowded with groups of people old, young, and in between. The menacing array of people made me a bit ill as I looked on to the people cluttering downtown scenester's and plenty of bloggers all trying to get a slice of the action, I felt a bit put off as I saw the exploitative ways which was now being retrospected, it was so strange as I feared the prolific ones of my generation coming to there own and perhaps some day having viewing of their own and in that time me visiting in a mock turtle neck remembering. Perhaps I over thought my future and feared falling off and becoming a spectator of others grand movements. The display was well rounded and put together on its own. The installations we just dreamy.

That night I wasn't in the absolute mood to cray out. It was the ceremonial send off to the dark hole of hipness, that i had so greatly grown with and found some poignancy in it lure to hedonistic rebirthing.

So I didn't get my chance to pull off a jazz fueled moment in New York speeding across the street on the way to some illegal party filled with drugs and beatniks... the redeeming thing is perhaps I had a chance to make a grand debut in a chain smoking flick based on some tired Parisian cliché of finding love in the lights of the city... This trip to Paris was so different from New York's semi indifferent treatment to me-- don’t get me wrong I heart NY but it seemed as if she was the city that was way to cracked out to have a real conversation this time around. But now there was Paris, so horny and so passionate, everything I had expected in a pre-fashion week storm. The day moved with every step around the city and my days were congested with trips to St Honoree for the ritualistic walk to that of holy temples that is the Comme des Garcons store. And a grander appreciation for the liberal justices I had as an Angelenos to reject the idealism of conservative nouveau bourgeois bullshit. I felt that this trip reignited a certain passion I had been lacking in the last few months, it awakened an appetite for being more in tune of my lustful sexualized self. Perhaps it was the fact that I was somewhere across the world with no social agenda other than time spent with family, furthering my familiarity with people and over indulging in butter bread and politically incorrect meats. I'm not even gonna place a detail on each date this is just a photo collage of the trip.

Over this week I got so much closer to Juju it was so nice to be displaced with someone familiar but unknown. I had known her for nearly 3 years but had no clue about anything about her other than her rough landing in LA and the various notorious style scenes that we both inhabited. But the closer I got the more in love I fell for the person behind the chain smoking semibitchy rehabilitated red bull connoisseur. We spoke of our similarities mutual occasional bitchiness towards a new gathering generation of agenda seeking scensters and the betrayal of some of the most divine fashion victims. Along with Juju I got to hang out extensively with Kiddy Smile which was a rare treat on the count that beyond twitter and the Coachella bonding I knew nothing more of his persona off stage. He was so passionate of his art and his delivery and rightfully prideful of the steady escape from obscurity. He taught me how to interpret Deborah Harry's recent quote of how she wishes she wanted to get the mega compulsory level of a Beyonce. As those around me and most share that deep intent to lead a life of structure before status and the pride of creditability it was more important not to forget sight of what was important today... style and association.

I was fortunate enough to catch the Claude Cahun exhibit at the jeu de Paume, her work was so important to the way I viewed the world and played with gender types. At night I was whisked away to a semi familiar atmosphere. We went to quite a raved out night at Society where it looked like somewhere between freak city and mustache Mondays with a light peppering of HTDJs the young waify Frenches had the enthusiasm that could go on for a few cracked out days. The music reflected a hyper disco disco dance dance euro house only expected in such a scene.

The next night we went to Alcazar for a private dinner celebrating the opening of Walter Van Beirendonck's 30 year retrospective. The night culminated in a grand literal display of the number one hits from his past collections as he had 2 models on a revolving table as a peepshow styled screen flashed the possible flesh. Afterwards we stepped out for a generous amount of chain smoking as Juju interviewed these amazing grand dame trannys Fredrik and Christine who were BFF for 30 years and had been assisting the likes of Gaultier and Mugler on their quest to become the ideal Parisiennes. The night ended in a great stop with Japanese food and lots of ice cream.

Having come late the night before we missed dinner but got in a few hors d'oeuvres which sold me into reservations that included a small performance by a lady in red and her pet parrot. Later on in the night we went on a casual stroll through La Marais. Stopping at the 5^th level apartment Kiddy shared with his producer we stepped out and perched among the semi quiet streets and as the sparse noise of moving vehicles helped to enact a scene of the wonders of being the visitor into this world of leisure. Strolling around soon after where we synced in deep with that would have been our past Montparnasse era counterparts embracing such loose sexuality in the simple pleasures of a man in a glass box nude showering himself to entice and protected by a sheet of red towel alone as all these various trolls lurked on like bulls ready to charge.

My last night in Paris was a casual one once again strolling around by the river I met up with the french version Ian his name was Pierre he came with his boyfriend in toe and as I stood by the river the sheer presence of the 2 young men led me to think of my new awakened passion, it was too perfect in my speeding voice the the slow tone. Every couple it rather damn koople worthy couple I had encountered suggested a certain gesture of honesty and truth that I was not used to. The relationships of convenience and disappearing desire was not what I wanted... I solved my problem. The problem being a shunning of the love that I had seen in the eyes of those around me with no spark. I had grown accustomed to abandoning my yearnings of devotions and infatuations for the stability and conventions of the typical torrid relationships that had no longer lived in the realm of volatile auras. I was like the river seine flowing wildly yet in a direct motion as the streets stood still gradually flowing with the people and lights. In between these 2, Juju filmed me in my metaphoric reopening and acceptance of taking in hand the will to exist beyond the accepted... every boy and girl fit a song out of an Air album...

There is a certain amount to be said about the forever friendly feud involving LA and New York... For me I just want to be in a Cassavettes movie running around with a cool gang of friends in black and white as a soundtrack of jazz improvisations complement my every step. The truth is its fast and frumpy with bade behaving weather and equally erratic people, a pretty even comparison to the LA treatment, just without a layer of glossed over PR or so I thought.

In a perfect practice of the chilled night out in LA I took upon myself to prep for a city life with an eventful trip to the Gorbal's for dinner with Jessica Willis and Karima. After the filling meal Karima and I ran to Scarlett Rouges' birthday where she gave us a sneak peek at her new project that was a self contained gallery of her work... you will see soon enough. We sat and drank wine and talked the meal earlier in the night was still at my neck but well worth it.

In an accidental tragic coincidence I flew into JFK unharmed yet horridly neurotic over the the 10 year anniversary and possibly being some jihadist extremest unlucky fellow. Arriving on St. Marks at Ian Markell's. I had a desperate need to throw on some outrageous outfit and go out to see and take in all I could. It was kinda disappointing as the crowd looked quite burnt, or possibly just not used to the 4 AM last calls as I saw a gaggle of Los Angeles' finest dilettantes and sycophants looking like the pink elephant amongst the raging New Yorkers and coked out dearies...

The night ended in a little time spent at the Ukrainian deli face smeared.

On a work day for most I was so fortunate to wake in time of the sun to rise, still invigorated with possibly losing myself in the strange city. After a bite at the Smile I hoped a cab and met up with Kelly O who was at the Standard readying for a presentation. Neon came over and we spent time chain smoking and watching a documentary on Jack Smith while Kelly prepped her New Wave boss lady outfit we went to the Chris Benz presentation where Roberta Wagner's prediction of a future in fashion that valued the wealthy Moroccan bohemianism of disco era Getty came true.

Ian met up with us and we grabbed a bite at the Standard, which was convenient since the next stop of the night was upstairs for Brian Lichtenberg's video with Greko showcasing his new collection at La Bain, which hosted a consistent flow of night after night of fashion show/ Magazine after parties.

From there we went over to the Dream Hotel where the crowd contributed what I saw at the antithesis of the LA experience of the LA casual scene. This was a true scene of segregation based off of the various tables that hosted the tribe of different cliques. In the club I saw A bevy of Artsy hipsters who came in the hopes of open bottles, rich prepsters dying to get some kind of creditability, older art traders trying to see where the money the artist made were going and of course a varient of gays ignoring each other... Avant Gothgardes/fashion kids, muscle males and the twinky expectations. After feeding off the party I was off to the Hotel Chantalle to give myself a night cap before heading back to Ian and St Marks.

The morning was very much what I expected painfully yet perfect without the much groggy draining feeling... yet it was to be what I expected with my chipper disposition. I met up with Marcella for a bite to eat the Jane hotel that felt like any indie girls dream meet spot in a Wes Anderson movie. I then continued the day on an art walk as well as checking out the great temple that is Comme des Garcons... then dinner came in another quick bite I had before bidding adieu to Marcella.

We then ran over to the Rad by Rad Hourani show that was so nice to see a movement into a more fluid structure, but always keeping with the idea of versatility androgyny and now with the addition of zig zaging array of blues.

After a quick meal with Amy and a sweet bump into with my new canadians I was on a steady trip shopping around for things to prepare my divine meal, that I could just kill myself for not taking picks of... I made a chicken supreme with mustard cream sauce, arugula and micro cherry tomato salad with warm fried garlic balsamic dressing...

After the 4^th Gin and soda with dinner I threw on new clothes and headed to Hiro at the Maritime hotel for a performance by Crystal Castles hosted by DeLeon Tequila and Nur Khan.

Afterwards we ran over to Westway with the usual epic crowd of suspects... I came home wrecked.

After a morning bite to eat with my friend Paul and a bump in with Katrina whom I hadn't seen in a year I was off running around the city until the weather dropped by 30 degrees.

Later on that night I went to see 5PHINX at the CakeShop, it was so nice to see them play in their element, in their city.

When BJ Panda Bear really DGAFS

Recently I was arbitrarily asked if I had a lover... I laughed in a comfortable musing at the semi farfetched idea of the possibility of being endurable by anyone. I said no, the only problem was I wasn't depressed or thinking of the fact that I was alone. Though I still had a little desire to be matched up, I knew I was a piece of work and some may say sweet but troublesome... Afterwards I kept on orbiting around that question and my uncharacteristic response. I fixated on the shock I caused myself in realizing I had no more desire for that idyllic possibility. I then thought of all the erratic people I had recently had to drop and how that was slowly changing me... or rather clearing my mind. Was I shackled into the false conscious state of settling and coping with being alone as a ok or was I now truly liberated from the dark of desires and soul crushing romanticism of success in the form of devotions and duos.... the thing I was scared most was losing passion, and there was a fair amount of erratic baggage that I had released. A moment of clarity away from the misconstrued erratic eccentricities.

The night started at Harvard and Stone in a much long awaited outing to see Roberta, Nick and Gid who had just came back from a long tour throughout France. It was so good to see them all with a red glow on the account of the open bar for the newest NCLA collabo with an eastside bohoe who fused the greatest hits of the east side drape and tribal prints... it harked a time when the Gypster chic and feathers in the hair ment something more in a pre urban outfiters saturation. PR chicks and buyers abundant I hung out in the guest area with the impromptu nail shop, it felt like a scene out of boardwalk empire switching out the booze for nail decals and the 30's garb for slip dresses. In time to leave I gazed on and saw the woman who wrote that rude blurt featuring the “... um... BJ Panda Bear” I choked and needed to dart.

After a sickly weekend I was back out on Labor Day celebrating with a fun DJ set at Bonnie and Job's house where a pool party was very well bound to happen. It was that perfect array of cool kids of divine variance, clearly defining a multifaceted design of people a perfect recipe of social brownies.

I quickly ran over to the Peninsula to see what Thom's new project The Urban Sancuary was all about, it was so busy with all these pro fur pseudo eco friendly attendees. It was funny that the event took place in the Magnolia room. It was the same space I had so intimately indulged and enjoyed my mothers birthdays dinners in the past during the real estate heydays. I left gifted and glowing.

Still a bit sick I came out for Fashion's Night Out to see the ever cluttered scene of boozey bingers on the prowl for the best cocktail deal, exclusive escapades and "it" band playing. I'd like to bring to the attention of everyone how perfect this new annual holiday is and the future of national holidays. having FNO as a day off to shop and gift to celebrate and put back to society... I'd like to believe that there will be a mythology of Anna Wintour as the Santa Anna Wintourclaus... The night revolved around Philip Lim where the band Cults played.

I left soon to go to Dior Homme where the band De Signer play a grand DJ set as well as performing a few tracks. The best part of the night was seeing the Manager “Papa” Peter DJing with his hair flowing in the air.

Described as a hybrid between an interactive flash-sale and a charity movement, the opening event (which is open to the public from 4-8PM DAILY at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills this Sept 6th-8th) the event is a clear depiction of his forward thinking. The “JETSET LUXE LOUNGE” concept will be delivered with a slew of other amazing fashion, lifestyle, and consumer brands and a portion of ALL proceeds help to raise money for St. Bernard project, which is an organization focused on rebuild the homes and lives of those who lost everything as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

Nothing is sacred or exclusive unless its tangible. Things have been coming to shit. I got sick with the change of the seasons recently and I think that has been a semi blessing for me to slow down. With a trip to the Dr. telling me that I have to deal with a week long antibiotic regimen I kind of feel lucky, good to go maintaining myself for something better.

We left after a drink running over to the newly reopened Hyde which felt just like the old venue as if redesigned by Ai Wei Wei. With Chris Holmes Djing it felt like any other comfortable night out on the town.

We soon left to go to Bar Sinister where I kept on instigating the possibility of whipping Marc in my attempt to regain some sense of being the leather top. It was rather vanilla compared to other predicaments I'd been in.

Afterwards right before 2 AM we hung out for a quick second at the Sayers Club which was still alive and kicking. Unfortunately the bouncers were well ready to retire pushing us out into the exit... the exit being Papaya King...

the last stop for the night was a grand lounging at Freak City... I didn't get out of the house until nearly a week later...

With the ceasing of the Sunset Junction festival, Peaches came to Freak City to deliver quite a unique performance fusing her DJ set with her live show including 2 dancers and an epic performance of Private Dancer... The vibe of the space felt epic I was transported to some grimy underground.
