Cosmic Coming

It has recently occurred to me that for those whose love life seemed deep and draped in couples alone time that I may be out of luck, but their energy wasn't like new love. New love was something of a rarity as well as the most powerful thing. It encapsulated the sexual appetites and pure passion that was such a bright star in an otherwise uniform solar system. For the most part all those I knew in committed relationships had been burring stars that lost all their edge and fire… and it was not a bad thing just a change that was like a preparation to either ignite into flames and die or burst in to flames in and fall into a black hole in preparation for another world. Dani was one of the recent ones to exact that new energy. She had come to New York and immediately had troubles comparing the men… although the men were more attractive and plentiful they were lacking in all the humility and quality… New York guys were like beautifully mass produced sweaters that lacked hand made precision and merino wool touch. She was fortunate enough with in a few weeks of returning to LA to find a hand made sweater that had all the quirks of finding that perfectly thirfted sweater, her energy rubbed off and she was glowing more than ever. I was more than glad to glean the energy that was emitted from her. As I went out that week I felt her sexual energy.

The next day I got a bite with Jill who was still going strong after a crazy weekend

Tuesday night I barely went out other than a dinner here or a netflix there. This week Sasha took me out for a night. We went to Tart on Fairfax for a bite to eat, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see the huge versatility that the menu delivered. Then off we were the Tropicana where they brought back the Tuesday pool parties which they had usually had on Thursday, I was unable to attend due to my own party. It was familiar but not the same, I was there and had been there I felt like I was haunting the space as much as Marilyn Monroe probably did. The attendants never looked so miserable and reckless with the very few sparks of light popping and using their own personal joys as a spring board to set the vibe. Dani was there giddy and glowing but then there was Ali who was stuck in such a off situation that her tailing ex and her played for the rights to the nights though she didn't go out she was still a victim of a social climate that offered her solace for spite. It was such mixed emotions, some fresh, some old that I felt so overwhelmed. The night ended soon after but I knew that it would change my perception once I was a voyeur onto what I had partaken.

Wednesday night and my vision is clear and came in with gusto as The Helping Thieves came on. I hate to admit it was more pleasurable than the Hanson performance from a few weeks ago. The band played with such a passion, the vintage worn leather boots with glossy patent broken in and authentically wrinkled cotton brought such a realism to the performance. I lived for it. That night I had came and managed to enjoy the night as did many of my friends… sober and willing.

the next day I visited Niko at her new house that was conveniently located 2 blocks away from my childhood home… we caught up and chilled.

later that night was never crazier as I started the night at the Palihouse for Papa Myles' co DJing with Paul Sevigny who I never knew was such a sexual fox. I was staying sober this week as a means of validation from being some pre AA wash up before the age of 30. I had been without a proper break from booze for nearly 4 months… The apple of my Eden came in the form of an open bar by Patron which I somehow managed to avoid. My life had always revolved around obsession and blurring and to see the world so clearly brought me down, as I was now hyper sensitive to the energy emitted all around me. As self destructive as the boozing could be I saw a different side that was just fun. A culture had been made around this "drug" and instead of focusing on the social wonders and praising for taste and buzz, I had jumped to contrive the evils.

Later that night we were off to a hugely rocking time at the tea room where the crowed packed up harder than before and a various array of people of the music came to mingle and intertwine. It was a particularly amazing night of cross genre as all that had to do with rock mingled the folksters, the new wavers, the goths, the glam, the indie and the avant garde all bumped into each other… it was like a meeting of different particles bouncing around.

I didn't go out until Saturday when Mama Ana was DJing the Carerra party at chateau Marmont. The event this night had the same schmoozed crowd as did the Palihouse party. It was miserable to maneuver around the dense crowd of champagne sippers and boho drifters. The crowd was somewhere between the usual Chateau patrons as well as a vast groups of intruders of the suited kind. The men who disregarded details for a manufactured look that had fitted blazers over unbuttoned shirts, looking uncomfortable yet confident these men took there place…

I left after around an hour, 3 cokes and a coconut encrusted lobster claw, that could have been what god would taste like coming in your mouth… Karima and I went to Sarah's for her birthday up Laurel Canyon. Her place was so beautiful. Jay made spicy corn and the cheese came rolling out with a side of cotton candy. An adult carnival off of wonderland.

Sunday was now in place and I had had enough self inflicted torture… that night I was ready to have a drink… Whiskey was drunken and the night was somewhat young to Drais I went with Austin and his lovely lady friend… it was nice to see them together so pleasant and uncomplicated with the problems derived from suffocation.

It has been a very important week for me, a week of weaving and understanding, coping and learning. After so much shit its time to shower. I've grown wiser... hopefully to the deceptive world of night life. There is more than likely no love as there is vast emptiness of space, but sometime there is that cliche glimmering light of those who made it to another star another world... For me it's just a matter of dealing with the reality of the vast abandonment one can be thrust into... now lets see how long I can last playing the role of a man of virtue
